A proposed redevelopment of six acres along Peachtree Road in Brookhaven, Ga., has taken another step forward.
The Brookhaven Zoning Board of Appeals approved zoning variances sought by owner Delta Life Insurance for the project at 4362-4400 Peachtree Road, according to Reporter Newspapers. The variances included adding and extending curb cuts on Peachtree and Hermance Drive.
Mike Irby with the Taylor & Mathis commercial real estate company told the board the variances were required as part of the proposed redevelopment at a May 16 hearing. Delta Life Insurance hired Irby to create design plans for several parcels totaling just over six acres.
The property currently has five office buildings with 200,000 square feet. In addition to the City of Brookhaven, tenants include Delta LIfe Insurance.
The plans calls for demolishing the building that is currently Brookhaven City Hall, retaining an existing five-story building next to it, and building a new four-story project at Hermance Drive and Peachtree, where an urgent care office is located currently. The new building could be either office/retail or a hotel.
No timeline has been set to start construction, Irby said. Read more here.
